In-Vince-able

once again it has been too damn long since ive blogged... i guess ive been really busy as of late. thanksgiving, christmas, new years, national championship game, etc. etc. etc. As a rare watcher of college football i normally dont watch the national championships. but yesterday i was particularly interested in it because the Texas Longhorns were playing against USC. both teams were undefeated this year and the Heisman winner along with two of the runners up were also in the game. To be honest i haven't watched any of USC's games this year but i kept hearing about Reggie Bush. and by watching last night's game (even though Texas kept him pretty quiet) i will have to agree with the rest of the nation and say that that boy has got some skills. I guess one good thing about him going into the NFL will be that the Houston Texans will get to draft him first..(or at least they better because they need a running back bad). With all that said i will have to say that i was very impressed with the game. of course i was really pleased when it was over because Texas won but disregarding that it was an instant classic. Back and forth from quarter to quarter until the very end. Another thing that is actually going to happen this month is CKY is coming to town for a concert. Now i dont know what i did to deserve that but let me know and i will keep on doing it. Im so excited its like being a kid and waiting on Christmas all over again. Anyway enough about that i guess i better wrap this up and go get some other shit done. Hopefully it wont be another month or so before i blog again.. Late

October's Almost Gone Already

Damn nearly another month since I posted anything.... I guess too much shit been happening and not having much time for blogging. I had to go to Louisana following Hurricane Rita and help to restore some of the power to the area. Poor people of Louisana.... like the rest of us i just saw what was on tv and once it was off of the tv it was out of my mind. But going down there changed that for me. Seeing the destruction first hand is something that i will never forget. We went to lake charles which was one of the worst hit by rita and i was in awe.....Trees uprooted, Telephone poles snapped in half, unable to see people's yards for the debris... it was all screwed up. Then one week after i get back from that area i get to take the wonderful trip to oklahoma...Five days in oklahoma which included us blowing up the transmission in the company vehicle that we were in and that almost cost me missing my oldest son's birthday. Luckily i made it home at 3am in time for his party at 2 the next day. So in fact i did miss his birthday but at least i made it home for his party. another f'd up thing that happened was that i was to have an interview for a job that i really wanted and ill be damned if they didnt setup the interview for the time that i was in louisana and would not reschedule it. BASTARDS.. oh well..... i guess it wasnt meant to be....Still on the lookout though... if i can find something that keeps me at home that would make me and my wife very happy but i guess i will have to wait and see what comes along..... It looks like i will be getting to make another trip to oklahoma this week to go and get the truck that we left there to get repaired. Oh well hopefully it will be a quick trip but one on which i will be proudly wearing my UT cap. For those of you who dont know the Texas Longhorns beat the shit out of OU and since oklahoma has nothing professional in the state they are all into college football. anyway it's getting late and my beer is getting warm so i will wrap this up and catch you on the flip side.

Another Week Down

Well another week has gone by...........the supposedly legitimate computer company has still yet to contact me back for a second interview. oh well......i froze again on the tower and now my boss has given me the option of not having to climb but at the same time i will lose the climb pay. as it stands i think the amount that i will lose will be well worth it to keep my ass on the ground. so now i dont dread going to work worrying that i am going to have to climb. of course im still going to keep my ear to the ground and see if anything else turns up but in the mean time i will still be making more money that i was at the job that i left. i guess thats all that matters is that as long as my pay keeps going up and my ass is on the ground i can deal with it. anyway nothing much else going on cause i am actually having to get up early and get to work on time which is quite a change from my previous employer. oh well eh....

Nearly a Month

Damn its been nearly a month since i blogged about anything. lots of shit's been happening.....got a new job....about to get a new vehicle(used but new to me) and to top it all off my wife's uncle went fishing again and put a trot line in exactly the same place that he and i did the time i was there but this time they caught a 72 pound catfish. talk about making you sick to your stomach. i saw that and wanted to cry. oh well shit happens eh? Got a new job as a tower climber/ data technician. the company (unbeknownst to me before hiring) installs radio antennas and radio towers. I was under the impression that i would be climbing towers and working on computers and the only time that i would be climbing would be if a satelitte was messed up or needed adjustment but boy was i wrong. First day two hours after i get there i am 200 feet up in the air helping another climber install a radio antenna. i wasnt too afraid when i did it the first time, that was until yesterday when i was climbing up to help fix some f'kin beacon lights on a 500 foot tower and i got up about 125-150 feet and the wind hit me. now keep in mind that i am not an avid climber nor am i very experienced in it but that wind hit me and the tower started swaying and at that moment my body decided that i had climbed high enough and i froze like a fuckin statue. Now that kinda throws a fuckin into the whole new job thing if you get hired as a tech/climber and climbin scares the shit outta ya from time to time. and its not like i can just say "well its a little windy today i dont think im gonna do any fuckin climbin today". here in west texas getting a day without wind happens about as often as a day with 3 foot of snow. i got back to the office and talked with the boss and he wanted me to think everything over and make sure that i still wanted to climb. what the hell am i supposed to say..... "no i dont likei it" my ass would be out on the street. Luckily i have an interview with a legitimate computer company monday and if all goes well the climb i did friday will be the last. of course i wont be making as much money but in my opinion i would rather be in a job where i am experienced and can kick ass and impress the boss and earn raises to get me back to what i was making climbing towers than to actually climb, randomly freeze up and not get the job done and end up getting my ass fired for not doing the job......and another thing is that i left a laid back job with which i had 3 years at to go to a job which (unknown to me before i started) scares the shit out of me and is in no way as laid back as what i left. with the new job there is no leniency ?sp and we must be there at 8 and work right upto 5. but i guess with more money comes more responsiblity. well hopefully this interview on monday goes ok and i get this job where i know what the hell im doing and can kick ass at. anyway ill keep on keepin on and see where the chips will fall.

Peace

Back to work

i finally got to take a mini vacation this weekend. actually got to go to the lake and do a little bit of fishing. Took my wife and son and he caught his first fish. after he didnt get another bite for a little bit he kept questioning why he wasnt getting more fish. damn if i only knew the answer to that one.... but like all vacations it is now over and i am back to work and really have no time off to look forward to. same f'n routine all over again. damn i need change. oh and an update on my little job interview.. the sorry s.o.b. offered the job to the other guy which doesn't really suprise me but what really pisses me off is that he turned it down because he got an offer from a different company. now in my opinion would default me into getting the job but hell no the dirty mutha interviewed somebody else last friday. i am just going to put the possibility of me getting that job on the "Not gonna fuckin happen list". oh well eh fuck em.

An Answer Can Be Found

An answer has been found.... It is in the form of a cd you can pick up from any "good" retailer in your town. the answer is CKY and they give an answer to everyone who asks "where is all the good music now?"Just got my copy of the cd and it is good enough that it has not been removed from my cd player yet. that is saying something because most of the time when i "buy" a cd it is only for one song because i usually give the whole cd a try to see if the whole cd is going to be as good as the one song i bought it for. 9 times out of 10 it is only the one song that gets played. Not with CKY. all three albums are among my favorites and all will now get shuffled into my cd player. once again i would recommend this cd for anyone who likes good music......

Another Random thought.............

I recently applied for a job. not that i need one i already have one but this one would definetly give me a much needed pay increase. but i know someone who already works there and recommended me for the job of which i think i am qualified but i was informed that the decision was to be made between me and one other applicant. also according to the info i was given the other applicant has no experience in the field but is looking at this job as a stepping stone into getting into management and this would give him a much needed "in". also in his favor is the fact that the vice president of the company recommended him. well it looks like im f'd on that one.......... i guess that is the way it goes.. its not what you know its who you blow..oops i mean know..

Xbox 360 will outperform PS3

"I think PS3 will almost certainly be slower and less powerful," says graphics guru Richard Huddy; backward compatibility explained.......ok how stupid are these people to actually believe that this is a legimate source to believe........the f'n guy works for ATI who is making the graphics processor for the xbox 360....if he didnt say he thinks the xbox would be better he would be standing in the f'n unemployment line tomorrow because ATI would fire his ass. Im sure the people at Sony are going to say that their stuff is better also. To get a reasonable comparison you need to have someone who is not biased in their opinion.......................
